Gokarna: Gokarna is a serene town housing good numbers of villages, beaches and temples. According to the mythological texts, Lord Shiva emerged from the cow’s year and from that day since this destination with the ear shape was named Gokarna. This village was formed by the confluence of two rivers, which give this destination an ear shape. Om beach is another place which is naturally structured in the form of Om shape. The beaches at Gokarana are sandwiched in such a way that it overlooks the Western Ghats on one side and strip of five other beaches on the other side. Gokarna, Kudle, Half moon and Paradise are frame of five beaches at this beautiful destination.
Marvanthe: Marvanthe is a fabulous beach destination situated at the confluence of Sowparnika river and Arabian sea. Nestled in Karnataka, it takes whole night from Bangalore to reach this destination by road. The travelers can en route their journey from NH 17 highway. The vacationers at this destination can indulge themselves in marine sports. Marvanthe is famous for sea rides. The adventure enthusiasts must explore the underground sea world. A boating trip can be enchanting with the captivating vista. The revelers can take a boating trip around Arabian Sea anywhere between Rs 800 to Rs 1000. St Mary’s Island: Located 7km off Malpe beach, from the swirling backwaters of the Arabian Sea rises a rocky natural formation. These are the basalt rock formations, if legend is to be believed it is the same place where Vasco De Gama is supposed to have dropped anchor. The coconut trees found here yield sweetest water in the world. Vasco De Gama stayed here for couple of months before heading further South. The human habitation at Saint Mary’s island can hardly be traced. It is also rated amongst the 7 best natural wonders in India. The evenings here exhibits mesmerizing vistas which turns into reddish color. The evenings of St. Mary’s Island are worth capturing in the still cameras.
Murudeshwar: The undulated waters of the sea, warding and waning off on the emerald beaches are an incomparable view to behold. Situated in Karnataka, 455km-North west of Bangalore, Murudeshwar occupies a cherished place on the map of India. the old Murudeshwar temple of Lord Shiva allures is amongst one of the major attractions in the region. The temple is situated at the base of the small hillock, Kandukagiri, which is almost an island, save for a narrow landmass attaching to the mainland. While the Shiva statue overlooking the beach is just an extra ordinary view to behold. This Shiva temple is the best example of South Indian baroque. The travelers during the spare time can make a visit to Murudeshwar beach. The travelers can plan to take a stroll on the 500 meter long stretch of beach. The boating fee for per person is Rs 70 per head for 15 minutes and it can handle 15 passengers. The timings for boating are 8:00 Am to 6:00 Pm. The Kayaking and Rafting fee is Rs 500 per head for 30 minutes. The timings for Murudeshwar temple are from 6:30 Am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 to 7:30 Pm. Bhatkal and Netrani Island are the destinations dotted around Murudeshwar.
Malpe: Malpe is 7km West of Udupi. Malpe in the recent years has emerged as the famous beach resort who likes to mellow out on the emerald beaches in complete solace and solitude. The travelers here can go for a boat ride arranged by various travel agencies. The travelers during the dawn and dusk can laze around and indulge themselves in the frolicking activities. Kaup Beach: The Kaup beach on a rainy day develops itself into an impressive landscape. This 130 ft high structure emits its brilliance for 26 nautical miles. Hosa Mariamma Temple, believed to be 200 year temple, designed like a home. This beach destination houses the statue of the tribal goddess, Mariamma, who is worshiped by three communities believed to protect the village from harm.
Mangalore: If the travelers are thirsting for cool evenings after the hectic day of daily work routine, then drive up to the Kadri hills is just the new lease of life. Mangalore situated 347 km from Banaglore, can be reached in 7 ½ hours when traveled by road. Besides this, there are myriad of beaches that Mangalore is surrounded by.
